Tony McDowell

1976 – Tony started in Sydney as Lead Singer and Lead Guitarist in “FUSION”, which later changed its name to “STRAIGHT AHEAD”, playing in some well known Sydney venues supporting bands such as TMG, Jimmy and the Boys, Stars, the Cockroaches and also went on tour with TMG.

He also played in many cover bands such as Cold Chisel Show, Stop the Camera, Millennium Bug, The Firm and many more.1994 – Tony became a Guitar Clinician for “Crate Amplifiers”, playing and demonstrating around Australia. This also included one with Lita Ford on a separate Clinic Tour.

From 1993 to 2007, he Joined BB Steal as lead Guitarist, co-writing their latest album Resurrection.2010 – He became Guitarist in “Legends of Rock” playing with Jenny Morris, Angry Anderson, Doc Neeson, Dave Gleeson and Mark Gable. Tony has also played with Choir Boys as a guest Guitarist.1998 until now, Tony joined “Swanee”, which he continues performing with. International supports include Deep Purple, Status Quo and Rod Stewart, playing in large Arenas across Australia.He also does Duo gigs with Swanee including several ”Days on the Green” and “Rock the Boat” as well as Corporate functions around Australia.

Current bands are ”Swanee”, “BB Steal” with the recent Kip Winger support (rejoined in 2018) and full time member of POUND FOR POUND playng & recording great original material with Kevin James Pratt & Damian McDonald. He plays occasionally with Sydney Cover Bands “One World” and also ”Rock City Saints” with Adem Gungor.
